Qimang stood across from Decius and held Xiehuixin vertically in front of him. He adjusted his grip slightly, then nodded.
"You first, general."

*meh i cnat be arsed to try right now..n whats ur weapon..cant be arsed to read ya profile either*
Decius stood just beyond the mans grasp, his shield equipped in his left hand, with his purple filtered Galdius sheathed and ready for usage in his right. he stood with an ammused grin, his eyes forsaking the blemishing features of his middle aged skin, "I thank you general." he stated, his roman tongue proving to speak as little chinese as he possibly could.
He flexed his arms and legs, and then sheathed his blade, grabbing for one of his throwing spears, "Lets see how fast you can move."
He then launched forward, throwing it with an amazing speed directly towards his opponent, before running into a dash towards him, drawing his blade for a simple swipe from left to right, using his bodies movement to help shift his left hand to protect any counter attacks.
*again..real crap..but whatever*

(If you don't feel like it, wait until you do. No need to force yourself.)
Qimang sidestepped the spear as it hurled to him. It grazed his shoulder, but his armor prevented any serious damage. As he did so, he kept his sword vertical and his body facing Decius. As the slash came, he released his sword from his left hand, holding it straight in his right hand and extending his arm to the right to block the blow with his sword. As he did so, his left fist flew forward, aiming a punch that, even if caught by Decius's left hand, possessed enough power to throw the man off-balance, if not knocking him to the ground. Moreover, the length of Decius's blade had forced him to move close enough for Qimang to make the hit extremely difficult to dodge.
(In notice in your description that your gladius is on your right hip, which would make it difficult to draw with your right hand. Typo? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but it apears from your post that you're slashing from left to right with your right arm (your sword arm), meaning that by blocking the blow I've left your left completely exposed, no?)

Assuming you wasn't drunk or tired, I believe you're getting everything the wrong way round, I have a large roman shield on my left arm, and a 5 foot Gladius in my right, 1 foot handle 4 foot blade, to my knowledge, I might have used slightly different measurements, but that’s what it should be anyway. And no, I'm using my right arm to slash you from my left to right, which is your right to left, as everything is reversed mate, so when you use a vertical blade to stop my entire body weights worth of an attack, as I was also running, which applies for a much stronger attack, your steady vertical sword would not block my attack, not unless your made of stone of course, and I'm a warrior, so there's no confusion with me supposing to be a weak strategist , my post will explain the rest mate, but your no where near my left, with your defence my left is protected by a sword you've halted and a shield. Decius watched as the spear flew by, it forsaking its target with nothing but a slight graze and a mark upon the armour of, which his enemy so proudly wore. He continued his quick foot-work, his eyes only scanning the tulmac leaves that scattered over the rigid landscape for a mere second before concentrating upon his enemy. He eventually struck, his enemy, who wielded a two handed sword releasing a part of his grip, and brining his right arm, which carried the heavy sword towards the incoming Gladius. But the weight contribution shifted, Decius had put his entire body weight and movement into the attack, forcing the defence to quickly buckle beneath his strength and pursue. The sword tangled and coiled, before Decius used the extra momentum to push harder among the blade, feeling his muscles strain to continues its forward motion, with extreme difficulty it succeeded, the enemies blade being pushed aside far enough for him to force his blade down the rim of the sword. It tripped near the edge and fell towards his opponent's throat, as the two was practically on top of each other now. Quick summary, I'm using my entire body weight against you, plus the fact I was running towards you, so even your flick of the arm wouldn't be able to sustain a full on body weight worth of an attack, obviously I haven't auto-killed or god-modded, just doing what I believe to be logical sense, there is no way you'd be able to sustain my entire weight and attack with a single arm, also, if my attack works, which I can't see why it wouldn't as I've got past your only real defence, I'd slice your throat whilst you punch me, as obviously the jolt would knock you off balance for at least a few seconds before getting enough momentum to punch me and actually hurt me.

(Before I respond, I just want to check a few things. Firstly, and this is just nitpicking on my part, but a gladius at this time was a short sword used for stabbing, Four feet's kinda long, isn't it? Not saying you can't use it or anything, just pointing out a detail. Ignore it, really.
That being said, I actually read your attack right. You're holding your sword in your right, meaning to slash from the left you'd need to cross the sword across your body then swing it back. Thus, if I put an object, say, my sword, in the way, your right arm is tied up by my sword, while your left is behind the right. From there, likewise, I'm blocking with the base of the sword, not the tip. I admit that I assumed, when you said gladius, that you were using a short stabbing weapon. However, I'm not going to dispute that. However, this means one of two things. Before I get into this, you must understand that I'm holding a rather heavy sword. This means that, slow it may be, but that works both ways: I may not swing it quickly, but that also means it takes great force to move it. You either hit my sword with the tip/middle of yours, meaning you would lack the force to knock it aside, or you used the base of yours, meaning I would be able to hit you. My fist would make contact with your face before you could push my sword aside. As such, if a heavy gauntlet is propelled at a human face at the velocity of a punch, the person with the face is going to react, most likely with pain, staggering, and the ceasing of prior activities on their part. I don't need to "sustain the weight" of your entire attack because it either lacks the force for me to need to, or because you've just been sent backward by a blow from a heavy steel fist.)

(and to counter-act, you never stated your punch to connect with my face, nor would you be capable of shifting your arm to punch my face, considering how close together we are, and no i don't need to halt or throw aside your arm, i'm using your 1 hand, heavy sword as a sliding ground basically, as you may know, two swords can easily slide up and down the shaft of the weapon, to hold a blade vertically and then punch me is quite a difficult task, for one cannot do them both at the same time, and a reaction to your right arm will affect the momentum of your left, either way, with your vertical sword, i'm using my *SLICE* i'm i'm slashing rather then stabbing, to cut across your defence, as your sword isn't directly in front of you, but to your right, so i'm merely using that to cut across.
In other words, you mvoe your right arm to block my attack, your arm cannot sustain my entire weight, your arm mvoes back enough for me to slide of your sword, i then rebound so to speak and slash at ya torso/neck/facial region.
Because of how it works, i can slash your throat just as you punch me, and yes i might even fall over, but my blade would have nipped your neck or whatever you let it hit)

(Have you ever held a real sword before? It's entirely possible to hold a sword vertically and punch. I've done it myself. So you're pushing my sword toward me? You're doing that with a backhand motion. I don't know how possible that is. If you want, I can set up that experiment myself. Moreover, my sword has a five-foot blade. If you push it back, the middle blade would rest on my helmet. You would not be able to slide your sword up and over it. Moreover, the reason my sword is to my right is to block your sword. I moved my blade to meet yours, so there is no way a horizontal slash can cross it.
So, in review, you can't slide your blade over mine. I can punch you with my free hand. Your arm is positioned in a way that makes it awkward to pull your blade to your right with mine in the way. By the time you'd move it, my punch would have hit you before you could use it. If you doubt this, I can run this scnario in real life for you and let you know of the results.)

meh, i'm just experimenting with different tactics Gryffin, and your sword is directly in front of you, as you just said. which gives me a good diea, so just post your punching me, i got an idea how to twist something around ^_^ and i know how heavy a sword is, I've held plenty of them, and my uncle has a Katana, their not exactly the lightest of things, but capable to hold in 1 hand..easily tho my point was, you can't block my entire weight with 1 hand n punch at the same time, think about it. you would buckle to some degree regardless of your damn weight or muscle, because i've basically just ran into you, then you'd need to recover, easily done, but it takes at least a second or two. still, i was under the impression the blade was to YOUR RIGHT, and not directly in front of you, as i'm slicing you, meaning now that it's vertical, i'll find a way to atatck you. cuz as u should know, a vertical sword cannot block a slice, if you punch then i'll just post i skimmed your sword and moved to your right, as it's vertical with no angle for it to lock with my sword, a simple bend of the writst would alter my angle, so it'd work, still i'm just messing about, seeing what i can produce*

(I didn't say it was directly in front of my, either. It's being held to the right, but not 90 degrees to the right, and slightly extended, positioned at an angle that would catch your horizontal attack. This form of blocking can block a slice. I've done so numerous times. Also, although I would buckle somewhat, it wouldn't be enough to prevent a punch from being thrown. One simply needs to pull the sword in somewhat while punching to absorb the neccessary amount of force needed to continue with the blow. Anyway, I don't dispute that you can move to my right, so if you want to make a post about that, you can, I suppose. We're both just messing around here.)
