*On a bright sunny day, with the birds chirping and a cool breeze, all seemed well in the city of Ji. Around mid-afternoon though, war drums could be heard, and the sound of approaching troops could be heard.*
*Over a hill came the mighty army of Fang, lead by Sun Qi himself. Qi wore his purple turban around his head, his purple cape flapping in the wind. His pure white stallion stuck out among the troops. Before the Fang army got in range of arrows, they halted, so they could not be hit yet.*
*Sun Qi ordered his soldiers in formation, his crossbowmen getting in the center, the swordsmen surrounding them. The Fang Spearmen got in front and formed the front center line, while 215 Fang Heavy Cavarly each took the flanks. 50 Barbarian Horsemen joined each flank. Sun Qi then sent a messenger forth to the city of Ji. Once he arrived outside the gates he screamed.*
Messenger: Lord Sun Qi, ruler of Fang has returned to the city of Ji, where he grew up. He asks that the entire city, the commander, and all the troops inside submit to his rule, and aid him in bringing down the tyrannical Zhao empire. He means you no harm, but if he must, he will take the city by force! What say you?

Cao Yu: I shall show my lord what im made of, this will be my trials if im truely worthy of being a true officer of Fang.

( 3kingdoms.net/cities/Linglingbig.jpg You are approaching from the West, Xiongnu are also coming from that way) Jue Bai"King Madeo will be proud, we will take this province with but the lift of a finger!""We must retreat, we must retreat!" "We must give up, we must open the gates!" "We must fight, we stand here!" "Order I say, order! We will surrender to them, their messenger is right, Zhao must fall, and we all know this already!""You fool! You no longer will rule here!"The King, bearing a red cape turned to see his right hand man slice his arm into two. The pain could compare to nothing as the arm fell to the ground, the powerful and grand pole axe shattering the appendage. Yet the warrior was already on the rebound, his blue cape following him with every step he took. The King now was on the ground, his head rolling off feet away and plummeting down some steps. All was quite, all were speechless as the act that had just been committed. The warrior in Blue, Dai Ling was on the rebound again. "You will fall in line and we will fend off our city! May the rebels of Ji encompass all!"And all went into action, some quickly fleeing while others began to gather their troops and weapons. The messenger was greeted with arrows as the northern gates opened, six hundred cavalry the next thing to exit. Ji had but eight hundred men, the other 200 already manning the walls. The six hundred cavalry rocked forth, their commander wielding a torch along with the other units on the front lines. Their horses kept on picking up speed as their riders' armour jostled around and their swords and spears flung high and low. The all knew what to do, as a plan long ago had been made when the north was rumored to be breaking ties off with anything that would not submit to them completely. Today the would act flawlessly, having half of their lives prepared for such a moment. They would not fail. The first part of the plan was to cut the enemy off from moving directly forward, and thus stopping them in their tracks. The front line of the riders unit let loose their coiled arms as the threw their torches before them, the fish oil soaked cloths at the end unwrapping, unleashing their fluids. They landed quickly on the crop, which could be replaced, and the whole scene quickly went up in smoke. Further more, select men through jars of tar, of oil upon the fires. The jars would break on impact and spread, causing more land to burn. The front was cut off. The second part was to use your weapons to your advantages. The riders split into two units, each taking a flank of the fire wall that their enemy had stopped near. They were now out of arrow range from the castle. Three hundred riders moved into three lines of one hundred each. One riders was not directly behind the other, and thus all of the riders could see their enemy. Each propped up their crossbows and let loose an arrow, shaping up and scraping at their enemy's front lines. They were moving very fast, and these shots would not be precise. They would quickly take their bows and put them back upon their mount, securing them and then brining up their spears. Both the first and second lines had them pointed forward, while the third began to hold them like javelins.. Yet who did the crash into? One hundred Xiongnu Chargers, lead by Jue Bai, a powerful Xiongnu cavalry man. Yet not today.. The Xiongnu had rocked off to meet the enemy, their powerful steeds pushing them ahead of Sun Qi's forces, which moved slowly to the city. They would be slaughtered, though. Javelins shot through the air and met the Xiongnu's front lines as they were attacked from both their front left and front right. The troops pilled in and forced the Xiongnu quickly be pushed back as four hundred cavalry man each moved in with their spears forward, killing countless men in just their first charge. The third lines of the Ji riders drew their swords and made their way to their enemy's flanks, chopping off the parts of their enemy's formation... 600 Ji Riders (Spears-Swords-Hunters Bows-Leather Armour-Horses) 100 Xiongu Barbarian Chargers (Xiongnu barbarians on armoured horses with pikes, kite shields and guerrilla armour) Losses: -20 Ji riders -45 Xiongnu Riders

*Sun Qi saw his allies were in trouble, and quickly sent his troops on the move. He orders his Infantry and Archer formation to pull back a safe distance, then to manuver around the main battle and fire and to head for the city. They were to shoot any enemies on the walls and attempt to get in the city.*
*On the front line, Sun Qi drew his twin katana's, his cape blowing higher in the air now. He orders his two flanks of horsemen to attack the two halfs of the enemy horsemen attacking their Xiongnu allies. Sun Qi leads the right half personally, charging in, cutting down all enemies in his path, searching for the enemy commander. His more experienced horsemen charge into the flanks of the Militia horsemen while they are busy attacking their Xiongnu allies.*

Cao Yu orders his troops to avoid the cavalry, the city was the best advantage for this battle. Cao Yu's Spearmen/Pikemen charged forward towards the city gates his troops split up and isolated the city by surrounding the walls. The Swordsmen/Scimitars assisted this attack and done a full assualt on the castle. The Archers fired over the walls attempting to fire a hail of arrows at the people and resistance inside the castle. When the enemy sees casualties, they will have no choice but to open the gates and defend.
Cao Yu: If the city is occupied we will have victory without a doubt.

A set of one hundred and fifty men appeared from the walls, each wielding a crossbow, each already knowing its target. They were skilled warriors, better than the town militia. Upon their chests were two daggers, each hanging ominously from the crack troops, who fired arrow after arrow upon free will at the charging archer lines. The gates were however still open, inviting the charging troops. If only they could make it past the constant barrage of bolts..
The man with a blue cape quickly went to work as the Xiongnu began to react to the attack and hold the Ji cavalry's front. He wielding his pole axe with a most certain fervor, slaying men and ripping them from their steeds, many eventually crashing into the ground in several pieces. He had already killed eleven men, his twelfth close by. His own men were doing good, though their tactics were not helping them so well now, their lines thinning as the enemy reinforcements came upon them from both sides it seemed, cutting them to pieces. The cavalry with the swords were nearly whipped out..
On walls/in city: 200 Ji Defenders [Marines] (Crossbows-Dagger-Dagger)
Losses: Ji Rebel Cavalry (Mainly flanks that are wielding swords)- 95
Xiongnu Cavalry- 10 (45 left)
Sun Fei's Charging Cavalry- 10 Fang Heavy Cavalry
Sun Fei's Charging Bowmen and Infantry- 40 Fang Spearmen
Cao Yu's Charging Spearmen and Pikemen- 35 Pikemen 30 Spearmen

*Sun Qi sliced through soldier after soldier, already having killed 10 soldiers himself with his twin katana's. He stuck out among his men, mounted on a white stallion, his purple cape an eye sore for all to see. 10 specific Horsemen of his stayed around him, guarding Sun Qi as he battled. Qi's horsemen fought harder and harder, seeing they had the advantage. While Qi cut down yet another soldier, he screamed.*
Sun Qi: Where is the enemy commander!?
*At the city, Sun Qi's Spearmen charged in for the open gate, while the the swordsmen followed. Their main goal was to enter the city and take control. Sun Qi's crossbowmen shot at the enemies on the wall, trying to give the infantry cover fire.*

Cao Yu's troops charged through the gates, and began to slaughter everything in sight, including innocent people. Houses were raided for money and items, Cao Yu ordered his troops to split up and fight. All of his entire force began to skirmish within the city attempting to destroy the enemy forces. Cao Yu's archers began to fire at the crossbowmen, the attack continued for ages. The innocent obliterated, The weak perished.
Cao Yu: Raid the city of its resources, show them that we mean business. Spare anyone who surrenders though. If innocent people surrender let them go, if they try any funny business, slay them.

Cao Yu moved in first, fifty men in a tight formation waiting for him. They fired arrows from left and right as his armies entered the gates, and those above quickly poured pipping hot water and fish oil upon them. A small fire was lit as the chaos erupted within the city, several houses begging to catch from the oil, just like some of Cao Yu's men. The crossbowmen from the front sent fifty men to the other side of the gate where they fired arrows at those from above, who were now getting twenty five bolts pounded upon them from both sides. Outside Sun Fei's unit also charged and still came under fire.
Further outside and past the raging fires the Ji cavalry lost a line, broken as their middle began to lose its power and the two arms of the formations crippled. They would be separated and brutally obliterated by the enemy armies. Yet all was not over, their commander raising his pole like axe up high as he singled a retreat. They began to fly back quickly to the city. Though most of their troops were now left undefended, being killed with the confusion as their retreating horn sounded.
Ji: 90 Ji Riders 20 Crossbowmen
Sun Fei Cavalry: 20 Fang Heavy Cavalry
Sun Fei Charging Infantry: 10 Spearmen
Cao Yu: 30 Spearmen 10 Pikemen

*As Sun Qi and his men saw the Ji cavarly begin to retreat they pushed forward. They chased after all the fleeing cavarly, killing all enemies that came in contact. Sun Qi saw the pole axe raised in the air, and the general order the retreat. Sun Qi knew this had to be the commander, as he pushed his white stallion forward to give chase. Qi killed all cavarly men that dared get in his way as he went after the commander so he may slay him.*
*In the city, Qi's Spearmen try to establish order, to keep the peace. Qi's 188 Swordsmen begin to climb the stairs to the top of the walls, and battle the enemy Crossbowmen and slaugter them. The remaining Fang Crossbowmen on the ground outside the city give cover fire, aiming their shots at the Crossbowmen on the walls.*
*Cao Yu orders his swordsmen to mount the walls with Sun Qi's swordsmen and aid them in killing the enemy crossbowmen. Rest of his men start to take control of the city and raise the purple flags of Fang!*

Fang's infantry as facing their outnumbered enemies in their own city, in the midst of a trap. Yet the continued on, the ideals of defeat plaguing them no more as they simple moved forward, meat shields in for their enemy to send arrows into, or plunge daggers toward. Even the faithful Ji cavalry was killed quickly, their enemy rebounding faster than their retreat, and their own allies upon the walls firing down upon them, thinking them to be their enemy. The man with the pole axe turned after noticing such odds and quickly went to work upon the enemy, his weapon moving right and left like a whirling, slicing whatever he could find into two. He killed five riders, before their enemy commander finally claimed his head, his speed and two weapons doing him more luck than a single large pole axe.
Inside the city the spearmen and swordsmen cut down the ambush troops, daggers becoming useless with their enemy using reach tot heir advantage. The same happened upon the walls, comrade after comrade falling as Ji dwindled from the rebel's hands..
Eventually, all were defeated, and much of Ji burnt to the ground. The people rejoiced, the battle finally over. Most cheered through tears, many of their loved ones had perished in the battle..
Ji losses everything.
Sun Qi losses: 10 Spearmen 10 Swordsmen 5 Heavy Cavalry
Cao Yu losses: 10 Spearmen
Rewards: Sun Qi: +3 War, +2 Lea +2 Wisdom Cao Yu: +1 War, +2 Lea +2 Wisdom
Fang Gains: 100 Crossbows, 100 Spears, 70 Swords, 30 Pikes
