The highest hill in this pass, it is a milestone in the battle. Yet, it is much closer to Zhao, and easier to transverse from the northern side. It gently slopes up from the hills that are on the Zhao side, yet is quiet steep from the south side. On it's west side it is most steep, nearly at a 80 degree angle. Also very treacherous. The east side is slopes down, yet is also dangerous. It is best to move around it, as it serves no real aid. A forest remains upon its top, and on its east side.

*Zhiyun waits, in the foggy forest atop the hill, unable to see anything. Then he hears the faint sounds of bells coming near, accompanied by horse hooves. The bells got louder and louder until Gan Ning appeared out of the fog. He had a 7 foot spear in hand, along with his Pirate Sword (Saber) at his side, and strapped to his back in an X form, two extra Sabers, taken from his men. Seeing that Zhiyun was on foot, Gan Ning dismounted and tied his horse to a tree. Walking towards Zhiyun, the sound of his bells heard with every step, he grins.*
Gan Ning: You think you can take Gan Ning? Alright, I'll even let you make the first move!
*Gan Ning sticks his spear in the ground next to him with all his might, so it is firm in the ground and hard to move or get out. Drawing his Pirate Sword and one of his Sabers, he waits for Sun Zhiyun, who is about 20 feet away.*

*A cold wind pierced the flesh of the two warriors as they stared at one another. The man was feared, and well known. He was Gan Ning, known for the bells he wore at his waist. They instilled fear into soldiers as they heard them in battle. They knew Gan Ning had arrived. But when the bells sounded from the fog, Zhiyun lowered his face, hiding his grin under the shadow cast over his mouth. When he heard the bells, all he knew was that there was yet another coming to die by steel and iron.*
“Have you heard the story of the Five Horselords? I heard they were undefeatable as a whole. Sun Ai Sun Shia, Sun Luo, Sun Guai, Sun Ruyi. They rode together, alone, as nothing but five men atop a horse with a spear. But entire armies would crumble beneath them. Ai and Shia were the pincers, who rode at the outsides, kept the formation steady. Luo and Guai were the flanks, riding each next to the center, Ruyi. Sun Ruyi was the leader, but they were each known to be equal. The five once rode out against an army of thousands, and watched as only three hundred men fled the mountaintop as they had not a scratch. Ruyi passed when his wife assassinated him, and the next battle the remaining four fought what was sure to be an easy victory, but they met death that day.
“Why do I tell you this? I learned not so long ago that my father was an ascendant of Sun Ruyi. I have no flanks or pincers, of course, but I have my oath brothers. And though the Horselords fell when the center fell, no one could match them in a series of bouts. Gan Ning… do you believe you can kill legend?”
*He jumped to his feet, taking hold of his spear and lunging forward. The two were distant, and Zhiyun would keep the distance with his seven-foot long spear. He had a sword sheathed at his waist, and the Commander’s Spear strapped to his back. He approached Ning, and when he was close enough to strike from a distance, he crouched and ducked, thrusting his spear forward with his right hand, keeping his left hand free.*
*Yuan Ci was not prepared to allow the fight to end without one man the victor and the other dead. And he was not prepared to allow himself to be the fallen.*

*Gan Ning side steps to the left, letting the spear pass him. Gan Ning takes his foot, and crashs it down on top of the shaft of Zhiyun's spear, this making Zhiyun let go of the spear. Now it is under the foot of Gan Ning, and Zhiyun is disarmed, he can not use it, or at least for now. Gan Ning rests his Pirate Sword on his shoulders, and points his Saber at him.*
Gan Ning: Is that the best you got? Nice legend you are.
*Gan Ning slashs his Saber horizontally through the air, then letting his arm relax. Ready to defend, he waits for Zhiyuns next move.*
((I have my foot on top of your spear with all my weight on it. You cant lift it up unless you use two hands really, and that'll still be hard, and leave you defenseless, cause I can move off it easy, and make you lose your balance. Your about 5 feet from me, and you still have two other weapons. Gan Ning hasn't attacked, so it's still your move, you just lost your big ass spear, while mine is still next to me, to my right.))
((Also, this is VALID, because you never stated where you aimed your spear, so I assume it's aimed towards my legs. Erik told me this, and it was fucked for you to tell me on AIM I had to change my post.))

And it was at that moment, that fear hit the 'mighty' warrior of Zhao. Challenging a man to a fight, who was not even scheduled to be on this field, he was standing there, his spear under the foot of his mighty adversary and from behind Gan Ning, Sun Yuan Ci could start to see some men coming out of the fog. And as the seconds passed, more and more men kept walking out of the fog and into his eye distance. But by seeing the duel for justice, the men split off, but kept marching. An incredible sight it was for Yuan Shu, while sitting on his steed. While Gan Ning and Sun Yuan Ci were facing each other in the most beautiful way of combat, Yuan Shu and his army marches past it, making sure not a soldier gets closer within their range then 10 meters.
And so, a gap passed through the marching Cheng army. The two men were completely surrounded by Cheng soldiers, but at the same time, they were completely ignored by all soldiers. And as Yuan Shu passes the two duelists, he looks at Sun Yuan Ci straight in the eyes. He was not going to interfere int his battle. Gan Ning would win, that much was certain. And Sun Yuan Ci was not a man worth to attack. He would bring himself to fall, and no matter what he would do, he would also have his part in this gigantic loss of Zhao today. And the most beautiful thing was, he was too ignorant to see it. Yuan Shu grins, while thinking about it and meanwhile, his army had passed the two men and were now marching into Zhao territory. The time to disappear was near...

((You're listening to Erik? Whatever, I'll let it go. But I'm still holding onto my spear. I'm meeting you half-way with that. Now allow me to show you why I told you to edit your post...))
*Zhiyun's spear was knocked low, but he slid his hand around the shaft and managed to maintain a firm hold of it as it skided towards the ground, Gan Ning stomping one foot onto it. Zhiyun held his left hand back, ready for the timing. He spoke a taunt, but Yuan Ci did not respond. It was a waste of time to attemp to break the spirit of a warrior like Zhiyun or Gan Ning by spitting words. They each were solid generals, held themselves with respect and honored by their kings. Zhiyun brushed off such petty insults as he prepared for his attack.*
*It was then that he saw the forms of men in the distance. Cheng soldiers filed around them, glancing towards them halting for a short time before moving on. His heart stopped as he thought he was swindled from a victory, but he sighed a breathed of relief when they passed. He had put his trust in his opponent just as Ning did for him. It would be a grand fight if it lasted.*
*This was the time to stike. He felt like he had the advantage, and sliced his sword through the air attempting to frighten the Spear of Zhao. Halfway through the slice, Zhiyun mustered his strength and yanked at his spear. It would do little more then causing Gan Ning to lose his footing, forcing him to fall backwards, exposing his chest. Before Ning could use this to his advantage by possibly falling backwards or defending himself, Zhiyun reached for his sword with his free hand(left hand), and unsheathed it into a slash across Ning's chest, for the kill.*
((I'll just explain it here, since you'll probably ask me in AIM or PM. You had a foot over my spear, and were spending more time acting cocky then paying attention(taunting and slashing your sword through the air). While you did that, I yanked my spear a few inches back, which would, even with a single hand controlling it, make you lose your footing, and have to recover. Before you could recover, or do fall backwards or anything, I used my FREE hand to quickly take my sword and slash across your chest, which would be fatal. Good luck.))

*In the middle of Gan Ning's taunt, he notices Zhiyun trying to yank his spear free. Gan Ning's weight on the spear, along with his strength stopped the spear from even budging. After Zhiyun's attempt to yank the spear, Gan Ning see's he is now defenseless. Gan Ning quickly moves closer, and with his Pirate Sword and Saber, stabs down on Zhiyuns shoulder's in a fork move, to kill him instantly.*
((Alright listen Brian. Though I may have been mid-taunt, I have all my weight + my strength on that damn spear, and your attempting to yank it so to trip me, with one fucking hand. Not only is that impossible, but my strength level is more then yours, if you want to consider that a factor. You couldn't make the spear budge, unless you used both hands, and you wouldn't have enough time to slash me with your sword in time before I put my defenses up. ALSO we're 5 feet away, and your sword is not that long, your out of range to slash me anyways. So your last post is completely VOID.))
((As for my move, I move a few feet in range closer, and I'm stabbing my swords down on towards your shoulder for the kill. This will kill you, and if it doesn't you wont be able to weild weapons I dont believe. Your disorientieted from trying to yank your spear.))

(Fuck you. Come up with a real post, and then put it down. I'm giving you 24 hours, and if you continue to void every post I make because you believe you're somehow better then me, then go ahead, I'll put you down as dead. You have one foot on my spear, and you're taunting me. But now, you have all your weight on that one foot balancing on a spear shaft, but if I pull it back with one hand, you don't slip?
Current situation: You've lost your footing because you were balancing all your weight on a spear shaft, which would actually be rather easy to pull back, unless it was stuck in the ground, which it isn't. As you lose your footing, I move in and slash. AND DON'T FUCKING VOID EVERY POST I FUCKING MAKE!)

I thought you were being careless Brian, not a lot of detail in that first post. How I was so wrong. Always impressing me with the simplicity of you just going out and killing things. Better than your last one Matt, but you got to remember your surroundings and to read all of your opponent's post. I let the whole thing about you side stepping and yet also immediately sending your (right foot) down upon his Spear, which is a feat on it's own, unless you jumped or something. Let's look at it this way: -Brian charges, bending down a bit and attempting to stab you with his right hand, near your waist (assuming). -You side step, bring the weapon down onto the ground with your foot, putting all of your weigh on it (somehow you can move your weight around very quickly, from left and then back to forward/right). -Brian slides his hand on the shaft, skidding down as well. This means his grip is moving forward, which means his arm is taking more and more power over the weapon, though not enough to stop you. -All of your weight is on your weapon, you move your swords around and put one on your shoulder, which takes thought. You also pointed one, which takes more thought. You spoke, holy shit, that's a lot of thinking there going on. And then suddenly.. Yank..? -Brian yanks his spear, if only even for a couple of inches from under your feet. You can say your body is leaning on this, as most of your weight is on it. Your knee is most likely slightly bent and you've got the pole on the grass covered hill.-A hill is never flat in every place. You put your foot down and pushed the pole into grass, something that you can slip and slide something through. To yank the weapon up an angle upon a hill with grass around it is all too easy, especially if you only want a couple of inches. Your foot would still go with it, and you'd suddenly find that all of your weight becomes unbalanced, and you fall, your hands moving around, trying to not get yourself stuck by your own swords. -In the mean while Sun Yuan Ci is already in his next motion, drawing his sword with his free, ready hand and since he's already closer to you, slashing at you. That's the kill. :/ I would have decided to roll immediately, but you didn't and well, he's got you. You posted again, something that could be considered voided as you ignored his. Sorry man. 692

And THIS is why Lyle should NOT be modding this battle. Brian is being fucked here, only he's too proud to agree with that. And since he's one of Lyle's more important generals, Lyle is going to help him out. Simple. But let me tell you what I think: That's the first thing. Brian never stated where he was amiming his spear at. So Matt had all the pleasure of filling that gap of the story with his own imagination. Brian thrusts with his long ass spear through low-air. One small step to the left, another to the right and BANG! The spear is useless. Duelling is an art, I think you said that yourself. And isn't dancing a beuatiful art to help win a duel? If you consider that, then Brian's spear is USELESS now. THIS, I honestly don't understand. Gan Ning is standing with all his weight on the spear. Now, I don't know of you ever seen a pole or something, but it's fairly strong material and if you keep it diagonally in the air from the ground and you go to stand on the thing that's in the air, the spear collapses downward, and so the handle where Brian would be holding it, would be in the dirt. His hand maybe bruised. But off course, I am stating things that can never happen, as Brian is a god in duelling and can't lose. Not this time, mister. I don't know for you, but he's only got one sword. Besides that, Gan Ning NEVER posted on this site that his character is a fucking imbecile. So this is easily done, by a sane person. But, you're American, so this might be surprising He yanks his spear, with ONE hand, whiel Gan Ning is standing on it with all his strength. Gan Ning stated the Stats factor aswell, os Brian can yank all he wan, but it's not gonna help him much. Don't go all detail on the hill, as you never stated this. All hills are different and in my town, I can show you one hill that is flat. *Waves goodbye the sad argument.* Closer to Gan Ning? Where di you read he closed in on him? The spear was range for battle, but not the swords. READ! That's what RPing is about too, Lyle No, not at all. Gan Ning just proved Brian's move with the yanking spear to unbalance him, the slashing with sword out of range and killing Gan Ning were not going to happen here. Brian should try a little better if he wants to kill something. He can't expect you to mod and say he's done it all right. You got to be honest, Lyle, Brian hasn't done anything yet, form what I think: yes, now he's got the duel in the bag. He's actually losing Now, Brian, please continue from where Matt posted last. I think that's fair. No damage is done, as you aren't near each other to fight with swords yet... Why did I post this entire story, then? Cause Brian was actually going to win by slashing with his sword, while the sword can't be NEAR Gan Ning. Why am I to write such a rant about it all when it's so clear? Who knows?

((And that's why Erik should never be trusted with any important role, dueling or maintaining a site. You're biased towards Matt, one of your only loyal generals left. Seeing how one of your most trusted ones just anally fucked you harder then you've ever (if ever) been fucked up the ass. And because of this, you're trying to kill me off. It's quite simple, Erik. Go to your garage, and have someone hold onto a wooden/lead pipe. Then, have them pull it backwards. You're losing your footing, unless you can float like Cassius Clay.
But man, fuck this duel. All it is is Matt jumping into the air, standing on fucking inch-long objects and balancing his weight while taunting me and slashing his swords around. This is no fucking duel.))

This duel has been drug out, and drug out, and bitched about, and proved wrong/right every way possible. Here is the fucking solution!
Delete their posts, say it never happened. Keep both characters alive, as to keep both of them reasonably happy.
If this is not wanted to be done. Then go to the dice dueling system for the match. This way it's all luck/fate/destiny...just whatever you wanna call it.
And if you don't wanna do those. Then here is my opinions (Which will probably be disgarded) on the duel.
A.) Gan Ning tried to balance on a spear shaft and hold it down. His boots are wet, from the wet land. The hill is gradually lifting, as stated in the description. The shaft is being yanked from under him (One handed or not, this would not be hard as he was more occupied on somethings. Mind you all these posts are in a matter of minutes, so it's not like people are stopping/starting over with each new post.) To catch SYC's movement and then react, would be greatly attempted, but only result in him falling face first.
2.) SYC then slashed at the fallen Gan Ning backside (Would of be chest, but as I stated before Gan Ning would have fallen forward) . This would be a dire hit, but lets face it, people back in the day (Especially Generals Who Actually Faught), knew how to take a hit. It would hamper Gan Ning, but he should be able to attack from the ground. Rising would only lead him to be attacked yet again, and killed.
Do with that what you will...It was only my thoughts...and nothing more..
