*Seeing that the trifling defense forces of Han Zhong were still going to put up a fight saddened Kong Suo, as that would mean a lot of unnecessary death on the parts of the defenders. He sighed. Nothing to do now but get the men into formation. The elephant troops were put on the right flank, the rest of his cavalry forces on the left flank, with his infantry forces holding the center, rallied around the mass of armored pikemen. The less auxiliaries and militia held the rear, while the Junior Guardsmen and Guardsmen held the pikemen's flanks. All ranged units were arrayed in skirmish formation in front of the army, along with Suo himself and his Amazons. The army also wheeled out the ballistae. Wrapping pieces of cloth soaked in tar around the point of the ballista bolts, the men of Suo's army lit them on fire before firing them at the gate. The rest of the army stayed put, awaiting the barrage of Ba Zeng's catapults to do real damage before striking the defenders.*

From the Chang An direction appears an army on the horizon, they number few, but they are most elite and powerful no matter what the situation. A man in polished yet worn green armour leads them in the front, a grand, winding spear before him, putting even Zhang Fei's famed weapon to shame. A large sword is also at his side, his fearsome outlook complete with such a weapon. A cape dangles behind him, fluttering in the wind, swaying from side to side; a free spirit upon the field. Some two hundred and sixty men follow this spirit, riding horses, chariots and their own two feet, making short work of the land as they descend the mountains. Eventually they make their way to the river, and cross it, a little help from a certain war ship allowing them to cross and meet their allies on the other side. The unit catches up with Kong Suo, the Imperial Assassins to the front, their long bows notched. To their left the elite guardians ride their chariots, their own long bows notched as well. Upon the right the long bowmen stand in a loose formation, bows ready as well as seventy Hell's Angels trot behind them, ready to meet the enemy. 100 Imperial Assassins [Storm] (Kataphractoi Cavalry-Pikes-Eastern Swords-Composite Long Bows-Battle Robes-Embossed Shields) 40 Elite Guardians [Berserkers] (Spears-Eastern Swords-Composite Long Bows-Thatch Shields-Leather Armour-Javelin Quivers-Chariots) 70 Hells Angels [Berserkers] (Swords-Battle Axes-Javelin Quivers-Thatch Shields-Battle Robes-Horses) 50 Long Bowmen [Marines] (Composite Long Bows)

Zhang Fei sends Deng Ai to the Emperor to signify his arrival.
"Commander Zhang Fei, General of the Flying Chariots and Prefect of Lingling, has been sent by Lord Shang Xilang, to aid thee in the battle for Hanzhong. I hope your lordship accepts..."

The Emperor however is not here, his loyal general Shibo in his place, over seeing the operation. He directs the attention over to Kong Suo, and simply says that if Si is here to fight, then they should do just that.
The Zhao forces march further on and enter the mountain ranges, scailing the hilly mountains so to fire from a higher point and thus strait at the walls, and into the city. They begin to barrage the city with fire, some 190 troops firing long bows into the castle defenders.

General Zhang Fei retreats by himself leaving Deng Ai in control over Si forces.
They then concentrate their attacks on the city itself, with the bowmen joining the Zhao in attacking the castle from above.

*Time was up... Where Zhiyun said he'd give them only a few hours, he gave mercy not only to the men in Hanzhong, but to his own men. He gave them two days to prepare, as it was well known they planned to fight it out. Where only four hundred men were confirmed to be attacking Hanzhong, thousands now awaited to fight.*
*Zhiyun sat at his tent when he heard a messenger enter. "The armies are ready. Many more have come." He exited the tent, and immediately he was struck. He had no idea the forces coming to his aid. He planned on taking the city alone, yet Ba Zeng, Deng Ai, Shibo, and Kong Suo all came to reinforce him. Yuan Ci suited up, his battle robe concealed under his silver armor and cape. His hair was tied back, pressed against his hood, with the ornamental silver dragon placed at the top, the plume falling down his back. He took his sword, sheathed it against his sash, tied his Commander's Spear to his back, and took his own spear with him to the camp.*
*Horns were blown to draw attention. The generals came forth, their men in divisions behind them. Ba Zeng had brought his share of catapults to accompany the two Sun had set up outside the walls already. It was time to rally the men for conquest. In only a month's time, all that would be against Zhutai and Zhiyun would be the puny Jin-Han and the armies of Japan. Sun took the podium, his spear used as a walking stick as he made his way front-center.*
"Men old, men young. Men fresh, and men worn. We come this day to finalize the Grand Conquest of Zhao. We have all heard the newest messages, of the surrenders. Of the diplomatic resolution we have concluded. Si, of the west; Cheng, of the south; Temple, of the north. All have claim. All have nothing. Zhao... has all. Under rule of three men that were a year ago so unimportant, Zhao now reigns supreme. Sansu fights, with nothing to gain and everything to lose. Knowing fully their folly. Now Hanzhong is ours to claim, as is Ba Shu, as is Jin-Han. I let General Pin leave Chang'an on my victory, but this next time we meet, his fate shall come to a close."
*He tuned around, silently, as a man walked up to him and talked to him for some moments. Then, he turned and addressed his men.*
"This battle shall be over before any man alligned to Zhao has time to die. A new age brings a new warfare. Sit and watch as the ingenuity of Zhutai and Zhiyun conquers Ba Shu."
*The catapults, all 32, were unpacked to begin firing at Hanzhong's walls. They were moved forward, only ten feet, to fire further into the city. Zhiyun rode to the front, his entire unit left in the camp. None were needed.*
"Your chance to surrender has closed now. Watch as the new warfare of Zhao rips your city apart!"
*People were loaded onto the catapults. But they were dead, and their bodies reaked. The biochemical warfare tactic, known only by two men of Zhao, began. A village was killed by maleria, and so the Emperor and the Grand Commander took the corpses and preserved them, spreading the disease to all that could take it. The disease was used against it's purpose of destruction of Zhao to conquest. The corpses were fired into Hanzhong. By the time the people within the city knew what the bodies were, they'd already be dead or dying. There was enough 'ammunition' to spread it all over Ba Shu. Zhiyun returned to his camp after the bombardment of disease concluded*
"We now must only wait for the city to fall, then we can walk in, set it ablaze, then rebuild it under a new regime. My men, you may again bask in victory."

Deng Ai reported to Commander SYC. He rode up in his horse to talk to him personally. He commanded his men to keep attacking, and his 100 bowmen to keep shooting from up above, then he rode.
"Commander SYC, Lieutenant Deng Ai reporting for duty, tell me a command and i will carry them out to the fullest!"
He stood in attention waiting for an answer. As he waited he pondered, what would happen after the war? Thousands remained homeless, millions starving or dead. Before Emperor Zhutai could do anything rebellions would surely come up...wouldnt they? He didnt know, and he probably wouldnt ever know, he had fought all his life, what would he do without war? I could commit suicide he thought...or maybe i could travel...he pondered this for a minute. Then he realized his hand had slacked and he was begginning to slouch. He quickly straightened his back and went back into attention.

Deng Ai bowed low, and smiled in gratitude.
"I am here if there befalls a problem..."
He bowed once more, turned and left.

"Now, only Zhao has claim."
*Zhiyun laughed as the air thickened with what smelled of death. Sun was an experienced veteran of war. He spent days in the smell of the dead, it was almost a norm for him. And now, an entire city lay to waste in the smoke of harsh conquest. Zhiyun was once known as an honorable man, and perhaps he was still. But when times of war came, the only thing one could do to maintain his honor was to win, or die trying. This day, that was so.*
"Catapults, unleash hell."
*With that order, they unloaded the bodies, and loaded boulders, setting them ablaze. When all was ready, each of the 38 catapults fired in sectors into the city. It took no time at all to set it entirely in a brush of fire. Hanzhong was thriving when Zhiyun arrived. Now it was hell.*
*Disease plagued the living, and when they died, fire burned their corpses, cleansing the disease for the soldiers to enter. Sun Yuan Ci took up his horse, leading his men and all under his command into the city, to witness the power of Zhao's conquest.*

I'm tired of waiting for the moment. Move on to the next city, we would have won with the massive array of ranged units and the fact that most of our armies were much more experienced and much more armouned, with better tier 2 and up weapons, compared to the militia. It would have been tight spaces in the city, one on one combat.
Medicine doctors move into the city quickly, curing the dead and any other citizens. The plague is soon stopped, the effectiveness of medical practice cleansing it a new. Zhutai sends a letter to the armies, banning the use of biological warfare, Han Zhong the only time it would ever be used upon Chinese soil.

*Kong Suo shrugs his shoulders as there is no movement whatsoever from the defenders, who are apparently all dead now. He orders his army to pack up and move out, heading southwards.*
