However, it creates a greater imbalance.

So? Imbalance is what war is about. If a new faction started up at the very end of last game, would they have complained about an imbalance of the troops? Nope, because other factions had worked for 'em. I'm really having trouble seeing why this is such a huge deal. Er is the only one who had such a massive army, and the only one I've seen who hasn't just taken the 500 marines.

No Bonuses. It isn't fair for the newbees who show up and get their asses kicked by dudes who were in the first version. They think: "Yay, it's starting, we all have the same chance!"
WRONG!
They get killed cause they see many dudes have larger armies. Why? They don't know...

I not a mather of winning or troop count, it's a mather of Strategy and Fun! A person with 10000 Troops who writes "The Leader sends all soldiers to attack." While the person with 500 Troops picks to write a strong strategical post, with a plan to flame up the whole area. Who would win?

The dude with 10,000 troops. Obvious...
You can exaggaerate with numbers too, dude. 500 vs. 10000? That's pure suicide.

Wel, the idea was to give older players a small bonus, ot a huge advantage.

Indeed I am... Let me change the question then. Who would loose most? Relativly seen, the dude with 500. And you really think anyone can pull off another Zhang Liao? Not on these forums, I can guarantee you that.

Back on topic, however, the idea was indeed to give the returning people a little bonus. However, they were each given the choice between their own high-end stuff from last game, or 500 better-than-militia troops. I think that since they were given the choice, they should be able to exercise the choice, even if that means 2000 men. This especially wouldn't matter if we axed/lowered the barracks.

Hell... i could've taken quite a few thousand troops to start off with too. I didn't, as I self-imposed a caps upon myself.
I could've recreated the strength of Zhao from last game, but I didn't. I'd think it would've been in most players minds not to field an army of 2,000 Imperial Guards from the get-go, but I guess not eveyrone has as much class as I can expect them to...
Anyways, off to go add the rest of my 10% of last games troops, I guess... Shaolin monks out tha assholes...

I definitely agree with the class part. But still, the choice was there for anyone to take advantage of.

If some people don't want to bring troops over that's fine, but since I'm not going to be joining anyone I want the extra force and chances are I won't let anyone join me so no force will be unbalanced. Everyone talks of the new comers getting crushed, if they want help all they'll need to do is send an envoy. Back on topic though.
The rules stated 10% of troops but didn't specify what so ever how you will choose them. If it was meant to be 10% of each unit then it should have stated so and I would have went that way then but probably would have still gotten flak cause I'd have over 1500 militia and 200 imperial guards all armed to the teeth.
