The North......the land where my father served the Temple Knights so long ago. Jia Mu rode silently, lost in thought as he made his way toward Ye with his son, Mo. Mu had trained in Luo Yang since his childhood in accordance with the wishes of his father, Jia Xu. Mu never really knew his father, they were always separated because of Xu's position in Pu Yang. The idea of ever being close to his father was one that was intangible, the only way they were able to keep contact was through the letters that they wrote back and forth to each other. For that reason, Mu had made the decision to never become alienated from Mo, hence why Mo was journeying to Ye with his father, instead of staying to study.
Mu left his position in Luo Yang and left the lands of Zhao because of the state in which the Empire was in. He chose Ye of all places simply because, whether Mu wished to admit it or not, Mu felt like he would somehow be closer to his father by traveling north. As childishly foolish as that sentiment may have been, that was the main reason Mu chose to come under the employ of one Gongsun Ren, Duke of Yan, instead of any of the other men challenging the failing Zhao.
Jia Mu's silent train of thought was abruptly interrupted by the words, "Father?" Mu turned to his son and smiled saying, "Yes, what is it Mo?" "Ah....well, if you don't mind my asking father, I was wondering if this move is the right thing to do. You lived in Luo Yang for forty years father, why leave?" Mu gave his son an understanding look. "Ah, you should not keep such questions to yourself for fear of reprehension Mo. You can be honest with me at all times, I shall not ever be upset with you for expressing your thoughts, or feelings, I only encourage such things." Mu paused for a moment before answering Mo's question. "It is just something that I must do, Mo.....I know that it may be hard to understand, but we will be better off leaving Zhao lands, and this region of our great country means very much to me. That's all the explanation that I can give, I'm sorry if you do not understand."
There was silence for a moment or two, Mo not quite sure how to respond to his father's answer,he did not wish to pry into his business, so Mo just rode along silently, deep in thought. Mu was about to say something to his now solemn son, but what came into sight at that moment stopped him, he was quiet for a moment, then he simply said, "Ye.....".
