The site has rapidly expanded to nearly 50 members, and there are currently 6 kingdoms in this game (Han, Sui, Rui, Wako, Si and Cheng). Because of this there will be a few tweaks to the game rules. I will list these in simple bullet points.
-Invading. Conquest will now reap bigger rewards. Whenever you conquer land from here on out, all your facilities (including the ones which you just captured), in all your territories will go up by 200. You will also receive a 300 marine bonus for seizing land, and the plunder of weapons and occassionally other stuff from winning fights will be well worth attacking. In the near future, there will also be additional rewards for conquering lands from other player kingdoms.
-Kingdoms. There are already many kingdoms in the game, so at this point it is advised that you join them if you are a new person to this site. You will now need 5 officers (including yourself) if you want to create a kingdom.
-Foreign Expeditions. Foreign expeditions are a special feature of Chronicles of Destiny. Thanks to Steve, the first foreign expedition map has already been made for Taiwan. Foreign expeditions allow the kingdoms of the game to conquer lands outside of China, lands which have initially-buffered facilities and cannot be taken easily (in order for somebody to take foreign territory held by another faction in the game they will first have to take all that faction's other territories). The first two kingdoms to have control of three territories will be given the choice (you do not have to if you don't want to), to try to fight to gain control over Taiwan.
-NPCs. Everybody can now have two NPCs. And the NPC rules will be updated to show this right after I make this post.
-Inviting others to Chronicles. This has already been announced in the appropriate thread in the advertisement board, but essentially people will gain 50 marines and 25 gold for inviting a single person to the game. If they an verify this, henceforth they can collect this reward in the collections topic.
-Terrain. Terrain and weather henceforth play a role in this game, though weather shall be a fluctuating feature while terrain shall consistently remain constant throughout. The terrain of each region is as follows-
Wu Yue-Forests, grassy fields and plenty of rivers. Temperature is usually humid, but it can snow and rain occassionally. When it snows the rivers here will freeze...
Xi Bei-HOT! This area is scorching as hell, and it is also arid. There are some rivers in this area but they are all shallow, much of the water having been evaporated due to heat. Mountains also line much of this area, especially in places like Hanzhong. It will never snow and rain will be a blessing from the gods.
Jing-Mild climates. You can expect a full spectrum of weather types here, and the terrain is generally speaking filled with lots of rivers and plains.
Central Plains-Central Plains has such a self-explanatory type of terrain that I don't even feel it's worth mentioning. The weather is basically like Jing; you can expect anything.
Nei Bei-COLD! The exact opposite of Xi Bei, Nei Bei is an area that frequentely has icy blizzards, especially in areas like Bei Ping. It also has plenty of hills though.
Ba Shu-Mountainous in some areas and containing jungles in others, Ba Shu has temperatures that are usually sunny. Heat Waves will not be uncommon here, but neither will cold temperatures.
Weather-Weather was mentioned above. It will be determined by a dice roll every week in the currents events thread. Note that some types of weather do not affect certain areas. Here is what each dice number will imply:
1-Normal Weather. Expect mild temperature that is good for marching.
2-Normal Weather. Expect mild temperature that is good for marching.
3-Sandstorm/Blizzard. Depending on the area, this will cause there to be weather that impairs vision and causes a lot of wind. This weather can cut through your army's morale like a blade if you're not careful.
4-Rain. Self-explanatory. This will cause there to be rain throughout China.
5-Snow. Simple, powdery snow, sometimes accompanied by hail or sledge depending on the area.
6-Heat Wave. Scalding temperatures will dehydrate your men if you cannot secure fresh water from underground sources or a river.
7-Foggy. The fog of war will be harsher and impair vision, but the misty temperature will be better for your men's morale in certain ways. Surprise attacks will be more difficult to successfully counter...
