*The populace apparently calmed by the actions of the Zhao armies, Kong Suo rallied his men once more in front of the gates of Chang An.*
Men, you may be tired, but today victory has become ours, thanks to your bravery and skill! Rest well tonight, for tomorrow, we leave for Wancheng, where our Emperor needs us, and we will not disappoint him, for you are warriors of Zhao, the best the land has to offer! Very soon, we shall show those Cheng fools that Zhao is not to be trifled with!
*Retiring to their camps happily, Kong Suo's chosen force of his 50 Amazon Guardians, 300 Archers, 300 Light Infantry, 500 Armored Pikemen, and 250 Guardsmen, newly arrived from Xu Chang, settled in for the night and slept well. The following morning, after a good meal, the men left Chang An, marching south. The remainder of Kong Suo's forces, consisting of 60 archers, 166 Light Infantry, and 130 Armored Pikemen, quartered themselves within the city under the capable and trustworthy leadership of their captain.*
