Building the Watchtowers

Ti Song left the building of the barracks, the men had complained about bandits being able to come close and attack without any watchtowers in the city's walls and what was worse, the civilians of Shikoku were starting to get worried and were begining to keep there children and wives in almost all night and wouldn't let them leave.

Rin stayed inside the barracks with his long adult buddies, that were teaching him how to shoot a slingshot from afar and nail a bullseye still, not has far has a bow ofcourse. Has Ti Song and a few hundred men, gathering about a few more has they walked along and spread the news, cheers raise in the air.


They stopped by the factories and other things, like the wood harvesters and construction areas and borrowed wooden logs, nails and the tools used to build a tower. The next few hours, they were carried and set up in a small camp around the whole city and the construction began, with 5 watchtowers being decided.

The groups were seperated and a man named Kin Wang led the other men and they went on the opposite side and the watchtower began and the tower began to construct slowly, thick or thin boards being placed and a ladder being built inside the tower so it was easier to climb and get down.

The nails were knocked in the boards and secured and the production took hours and the women of the town brought food and drinks for the man and they enjoyed a few laughs to see their son play around in wrestling and lose easily. The whole day went away and by the end, only two were finished and Ti Song and the men that came with him retired, having guards stationed around them and fell asleep, when they rose the reconstructing would begin again.

Ti Song awoke with the sound of birds chirping in the distance, there was no breeze, which was great and would be easier for them to work in a cool weather and no coldness that would bother the men and make them want to take many breaks. The boy Rin had come and stood there watching Ti Song and then disappearing off and going back inside town.

Ti Song awoke the other men, the workers he had brought with him and once they were all awake, the food and drinks, a feast overnight was brought by the women and there were tables all around and Ti Song and then men drank heartily and thanked them each and they promised to rebuild the watchtowers before the day was over and the promise was going to be kept.

While Ti Song and all the men began working, the nails being hammered quickly and precisely in their spots and the ladders being placed inside, so did Kin Wang on the other side, he had split up into two groups and now they were building three towers at once, one Ti Song and two Kin Wang's. By midafternoon, Kin had finished one and the other two were almost done, it helped too have about 1250 men with you working on the watchtowers.

Ti Song had been clipped with a nail in his thumb and swore off, not wanting it patched, he tore the nail out and tossed it where suddenly Rin appeared once more, with twenty men behind him each were meant to maintain the towers and be lookouts and Ti Song appraised his newfound son and told him of how well he did. By Nightfall the work was finish and everyone was tired out to their maxium degree and would not fight anymore than they had to.

They each left, Ti Song placing 4 men in each tower and took Rin to his home with him and they had their sleep, but in the morning horns and shouts of happiness rang over the town and they found out that a few men had been killed with the help of the watchtowers and there was a newfound safety in the town to have men watching out for any enemies, the watchtowers were taller than most, due to the ladder which made it easier than the stairs often made in watchtowers.

Ti Song personally manned one tower for the days that passed, and saw no bandits, probaly scared off due to the fact that there fellow friends had died so easily and the night, he had happily smiled, with his bow and arrows beside him, near his bed, those were the only things he needed to save himself, and his soul. No one would tear down Wo.
