Wei Yan rode through the city gates as the dawn broke behind his back. He was happy to be home, and especially to have his friend back beside him again. Noting about today would go wrong, for everything was perfect in Yan's mind for the time.
He looked to Er Aorong and opened his arms to show to him how his city had grown.
"My friend, since leaving Si I have only became stronger, as will you. One my prime officers is not here for you to meet, but he will meet us at Wancheng. The one that rides with me is Zhou Tan. Man of little words and great ability. A personal bodyguard and dear friend of mine. When Cheng Invaded Chai Sang my friend, Xu Yu, fell defending the gates that later fell with his life. This was the fate Si gave him, and for this, we will march and return the favor soon enough."
Yan spoke of his late friend with grief in his heart, and sadness in his tone. Yan quickly shook it away though, now was not the time to mourn, now was the time for planning.
"Your men can stay in the barrack, lord knows there is plenty of room, except your elephants. Those, beautiful death dealers, just may have to go stables less and be chained down."
Yan said with a laugh. Tan branched off from the group and began leading Aorong's men to the barracks while Yan continued down the road to his home. He still was prefect of Chai Sang and his home was still completely open to his old friend. As they arrived Yan stopped his horse and smiled.
"Today, we shall relax and plan our march for Wancheng, what say you old friend?"
Yan asked as he dismounted and led Aorong to the planning hall of his home. Motioning to a few waitress, Yan had wine brought for himself and water for his friend. He knew Aorong wouldn't want the wine so he didn't bother disrespecting him with it.

Er was impressed with the quality of the city after it's assault from Cheng, it came far since then. He dismounted his steed along with Yan and entered his home. It wasn't ornate yet humbling at the same time. Er sipped his water, staying hydrated was something he made sure to do. He looked to his friend and spoke,
"I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, every man down is a great loss. As for plans of Wanchang, I'm curious as to what you have in mind. Also, would you happen to have any food, the long march has left me a bit hungry."
He finished his water and filled his glass again sipping it slowly. He was anxious to see battle again and soon he would have his glory.
(Short but work is keeping me busy.)

Wei Yan laughed with a nod and ushered in the servant girl who had been waiting to see if Er Aorong would be hungry. The servant girl entered and sat down a tray of food as Yan spoke.
"Dear Friend, you need not ask in my house, merely take to your heart and stomachs desire."
Yan became more serious looking after the servant girl took her leave. Getting up he went to a wardrobe on the far side of his room. From the wardrobe he took a suit of armor, from under the armor he brought forth a scroll. Walking back over to the table Yan laid out the scroll to reveal, very few words, mainly a picture.
"This is Wancheng, and this Pass is where Lord Yuan Shu is going to be engaging the Zhao forces, supposedly the Fake Emperor Du Jung is said to be leading them."
Yan said as he pointed to a pass North of Xiang Yang. Pointing into the south eastern part of the pass, at an area of grasslands Yan spoke again.
"I sent troops here to cover Lord Yuan Shu's rear flank. They are not large in number, and their officer is a new one but an able one. His name is Ran Vu, and he was a blacksmith here for quite sometime. Those nobles gates you entered, he constructed. He's--"
Yan was cut short by a messenger bolting through the doors. At first Yan seemed angy, but as soon as the exhausted messenger spoke, Yan understood.
"Prefect...Wei..Yan...Cheng's..."
The messenger took a moment and a few deep breaths to compose himself. Starting over, this time more calm and collected.
"Prefect Wei Yan, I come to you with urgent news of the battle at Jing Pass. General Jiang Wei has defect from Cheng to Zhao and left only a burning Cheng Camp in his wake! Generals Guan Yu and Gongsun Zan were last seen inside the camp, and no word has come of their lives. General Ran Vu has also positioned himself as you have asked and is waiting your arrival now, and also is asking for it quite a lot lately."
The messenger said, and Yan could only sit in awe. Looking back to Aorong he shook his head before speaking respectfully to his old friend.
"General Er Aorong, I have been summoned to the field of battle once more. This battle will surely take the lives of many and possibly my own, but still I must act. Will you accompany me on the field of battle once more?"
Yan asked in hope of the General's assitance, for Er was capeable, and his friend. Looking back to the messenger Yan sighed sternly.
"Tell the Barracks And the Stables to ready for war. Send word to the factory and have my seige engines readied. We march at dawn!"
Yan commanded before looking back to his old friend.

As the messenger barged in Er was sure to take notice of his every word. So the assault against Zhao wasn't going too well, time to change the tide of war. He rose from his feet and stood tall and proud looking at Wei Yan and spoke,
"My friend, nothing would make me happier than to go to war at your side! Let us ride on to victory, victory over the enemies that have given us troubles from the beginning! TO WAR!!"
By the time he finished his speech his arm was raised in a fist and he stormed out of the building. He mustered his troops in record time and the thoughts of battle excited each and everyone of them. He was waiting at the gates for Wei Yan to lead the march as he had no ideas of the lay of this land and Yan could get them there the quickest.

Wei Yan met his friend, Er Aorong, late that night. Yan's small army was behind him and his purifying blade at his side. With a smile he ooked over each army. Tonight they road, and tommorrow their arrival would turn the tide and rally the momentum of war!
"Here we are again. Tonight we ride, and tommorrow we strike!"
Yan ended with a bellow to the armies as his arm raised and the gates were opened. Throwing his arm forward he rode forth from the gate. They would ride to Xiang Yang, where they would get the detail of the battle, from there it was to Jing Pass.
As they left Chai Sang Zhou Tan rode quickly to catch Wei Yan.
"Yan! You aren't leaving me behind!"
Tan called from a few men back. Yan only laughed as he looked back to Tan.
"Then who will govern my city in my stead? Zhou Tan you are to return to Chai Sang and Keep it safe. Soon the men will be ready to defend it with their lives. Now go!"
Yan demanded sternly. Tan started to defy, but knew Yan wouldn't be swayed. Sighing Tan turned around and rode back into Chai Sang. Yan had to keep his city in order while he was away and knew Tan was capeable of commanding easily.
